Princeton University is mourning the loss of 20-year-old undergraduate student Misrach Ewunetie. Her body was discovered on the university’s facilities grounds behind the tennis courts on Thursday afternoon. The Mercer County Prosecutor’s office has stated that there are no obvious signs of injury, and her death does not appear to be suspicious or criminal in nature.

Misrach, a native of Ohio, was last seen near her dorm, Scully Hall, on Friday around 3 a.m. Her phone was later traced to an off-campus residence, which is a significant distance from the university premises. This raised concerns among her family members, who promptly contacted the Public Safety department for assistance.

A missing alert was issued, and an exhaustive search effort was initiated. The university community and local residents were encouraged to come forward with any information that could help locate Misrach. The search involved the use of helicopters, drones, and watercraft to thoroughly comb the area.

Sadly, nearly a week after her disappearance, Misrach’s body was discovered by a facilities employee. The entire Princeton University community is heartbroken by this tragic loss. Vice President W. Rochelle Calhoun expressed deep sorrow and extended condolences to Misrach’s family, friends, and loved ones.

We offer our support and sympathy to all those who knew Misrach during this difficult time. May she rest in peace.
