On March 16, 1991, a sad tragedy claimed the lives of eight of the well-known singer’s bandmates and crew members, all of whom were excellent musicians and dedicated friends.

On social media, McEntire expressed her appreciation for those who have had such a long-lasting influence on the music business.
The journey from San Diego to Indiana was tragically terminated when one of the aircraft’s wings collided with a boulder atop Otay Mountain.

Reba stayed in the hotel with her husband Narvel and stylist because she was feeling under the weather at the time, while the rest of the party went on an adventure.
Paula Kaye Evans, Terry Jackson, Chris Austin, Joey Cigainero, and the tour manager Jim Hammon all passed away.

McEntire said in a video tribute that was uploaded to Instagram, “Their passion for music and their incredible stage presence continue to inspire us all.”

A performance recording of the group is included in this presentation as an emotional nod to their skill and unity.

To preserve the memory of the band, Reba brings up the subject at least once a year.

She spoke with Oprah Winfrey about the incident and its immediate aftermath in a 2012 interview. She recalled the anxious time as follows: “When we got the notification, Narvel went to meet our pilot, who revealed the devastating news.”

Narvel came back to our hotel room in the early hours of the morning with the terrible news that one of the planes had crashed. Are they all right, I inquired. He answered, “I don’t think so.”

But you’re unsure, right? Later, I persisted. He calmly retorted, “I don’t think so.”May we never forget the influence these amazing people had on Reba McEntire’s career and music history as we commemorate their lives.
