But maintaining such long hair is no simple task. Nasyrova spends an hour each day washing her hair, and an entire day air-drying it. When she goes out, she carries a separate bag solely for her hair, weighing a staggering 22 pounds. Inside, you’ll find an assortment of liquids – shampoo, conditioner, and other hair accessories. She even does hair exercises on a yoga mat to keep her locks healthy and strong.

Her husband, Ivan Balaban, is incredibly supportive of her passion. Though he jokes about avoiding getting too involved in her hair affairs, he takes great care to ensure he never accidentally damages or tangles her precious locks. He even has to make room for her hair when they cuddle!

Managing such long hair does come with its challenges. Nasyrova remembers a time when she had gum stuck in her hair as a child. Desperate to remove it, she had no choice but to cut a section of her hair – a true calamity for someone with hair as long as hers.

While Nasyrova’s hair is undeniably impressive, it doesn’t hold the record for the longest hair ever. That honor belongs to Xie Qiuping from China, whose hair reached a staggering length of 18 feet 5 inches. That’s nearly as long as the height of an adult male giraffe, according to the Guinness World Records.
