The Beers family is no stranger to the hustle and bustle of city life. For years, Justin and Rachel toiled away in corporate America, clocking long hours and sacrificing quality time with their kids. But something had to change. Dissatisfied with the fast-paced status quo, they made a bold decision – to sell their large house in bustling Phoenix and embark on a new journey in a tiny house on a historic homestead in picturesque northern Arizona.

The catalyst for their leap into a simpler lifestyle came when Justin’s mother passed away in 2017. It made him realize just how short life is and how important it is to cherish moments with loved ones. Yearning for more time together as a family, Justin and Rachel sold off 90% of their belongings and embraced a minimalist mindset focused on experiences rather than material possessions.

Their decision was not without its fair share of challenges and obstacles along the way. But as soon as the Beers family set foot on their new land, it felt like home. They knew that their journey had led them to this very place, where they could truly live life on their own terms.

Partnering with Uncharted Tiny Homes, the Beers family worked meticulously to design and build three tiny home rentals on their homestead. These homes, now part of the charming Hummingbird Tiny Home Inn, were tailor-made to suit the needs of their family of five.

Measuring 34 feet long and 10 feet wide, the Beers’ tiny house on wheels boasts thoughtful design elements. With two one-foot pop-outs for the living room and a private downstairs bedroom, the house offers just the right amount of space. The spacious loft provides each of their three children with their own room, while an upstairs play area allows for imaginative play and gaming. And for even more adventure, the kids have plenty of room to explore outside their tiny abode.

But the Beers family’s homestead also came with a delightful surprise – a historic small cabin that has been transformed into a Lego building paradise. This cozy playroom adds an extra touch of nostalgia and creativity to their unique living arrangement.

The Beers family’s story is an inspiring testament to the power of following one’s heart and prioritizing what truly matters. Their decision to embrace a slower, more intentional way of life has brought them closer as a family and opened up a world of possibilities. Through their journey, they have discovered that sometimes, less truly is more.
