Slaton, who wed her late husband in November 2022, tells PEOPLE, “He was my best friend and I loved him dearly.”

Tammy Slaton’s 1000-Lb Sisters actress husband Caleb Willingham passed away at the age of 40.

In a statement, Slaton, 36, adds, “I am heartbroken to share the news of my husband’s passing.” He was my best friend, and I cherished our relationship.

“When I met Caleb, he instantly became my guardian angel, and he is now genuinely keeping an eye on me. We really appreciate everyone’s condolences, however at this time, please respect the privacy of our families.

The network continues, “We were shocked to learn about Caleb Willingham’s loss. We send our condolences to Tammy, his family, and friends during this trying time.

In 2022, Slaton and Willingham crossed paths at the Gibsonburg, Ohio-based Windsor Lane Rehabilitation Center. He asked her to marry him in October, and PEOPLE exclusively disclosed this in November.

At the time, Tammy said, “You all knew me as Tammy Slaton, but now you’ll all know me as Mrs. Tammy Willingham. “I’m now married!”

The pair made the decision to wed at the treatment facility. The little ceremony, which was officiated by their home care nurse and family friend Billy, had only 30 friends and family members invited.

In a later episode of the series, Slaton said, “When I saw Caleb at the altar, all I could think of was doves and butterflies all around, like God had opened up the clouds and let the sunlight in.” It was enchanted.

“When I finally see her, my heart explodes,” Caleb continued.

Previously, Slaton claimed that she had “never felt this way about anybody.”

Facebook pals started posting condolences for Willingham on Friday; his Facebook page states that he is from Evansville, Indiana.

I’am Willc, a Facebook user, posted a photo of Willingham in front of a microphone and stated, “I can’t believe I’m even writing this post, but today GOD called my big brother home. “R.I.P. Caleb Willingham aka Killla K aka Double K aka one-half of the charismatic WWF tag team champions The W Boys aka my biggest supporter in anything I do,” reads the tribute. You will always be cherished and missed. Until we next speak.
