At around 12.30 p.m. on Thursday, a man at Thredbo Resort crashed into a pole on the edge of a ski run, according to NSW police.

Other skiers started performing CPR before medical personnel arrived, but the victim passed away at the scene, according to a police official.

Monaro Police District officers are looking into the event.

The 73-year-old’s death was confirmed by a resort spokeswoman, who also stated that the ski patrol crew was assisting law enforcement.

The demise of a male visitor while skiing at Thredbo Resort today has left Thredbo “deeply saddened,” they stated.

The Thredbo community offers his family and friends its deepest sympathies.

A police report will be made for the coroner.
