One local source stated that the infants were discovered dead two days after birth.

On Saturday, two newborn twins were discovered dead and dumped in a trash can on Cleveland’s Eastside.

A 16-year-old female who authorities suspect gave birth to the infants days earlier was located and was transported to the hospital for treatment, according to Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia of the Cleveland Homicide authorities Unit.

“Investigators will present the facts of this case to the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office,” according to Ciaccia’s statement.

Ciaccia claims that the two kids were discovered on Saturday night at Cleveland’s Buckeye Shaker Square, close to the 2800 block of Ludlow Road.

An unnamed neighbor told WOIO, “I’ve heard that the discovery was made by a landscaper that came over to do the grass,” adding that he heard the landscaper discovered the kids while tossing grass clippings in the garbage.

According to WKYC, the babies were born on Thursday. According to neighbors who spoke with the site, they heard the babies wailing late at night but did not pay them any attention other than to assume that they were waiting for food.

One neighbor told WKYC, “Now that I know why the police are here, it hurts.”
