It is well-established that caffeine intake can increase lactate content in the blood. Therefore, individuals should be aware of their daily caffeine consumption and adhere to the safe limits recommended by the Mayo Clinic: no more than 400mg per day. This roughly translates to two energy shots, ten cans of cola, or four cups of freshly brewed coffee. While these quantities may not seem excessive at first glance, it is crucial to keep in mind that consistently consuming large amounts of caffeine can negatively impact our health.
