In a heartfelt gathering at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church in Atlanta, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter made a special appearance to remember his beloved wife, Rosalynn Carter. Despite his declining health and being in hospice care, Jimmy joined his children in paying tribute to Rosalynn, showcasing a bond that lasted a lifetime.

The Carters’ love story is one for the ages, beginning in their childhood in the small town of Plains, Georgia. Their journey together spanned decades, including their time in the White House from 1977 to 1981.

Rosalynn, who passed away at the age of 96 on November 19th, was more than a First Lady. She was a dedicated humanitarian, continuing her work well after her time in Washington through the Carter Center.

The loss of Rosalynn marked a poignant moment, especially for Jimmy, whose health has also been declining. According to their grandson Jason Carter, Jimmy leaned on Rosalynn as his pillar of strength. “He has been this moral rock for so many people, but she really was that rock for him,” Jason shared with the New York Post.

The memorial service was filled with touching moments, one of them being when their daughter, Amy Carter, read a letter written by Jimmy to Rosalynn during his Navy days. His words, “My darling, every time I’ve ever been away from you, I have been thrilled when I returned to discover just how wonderful you are. When I see you, I fall in love all over again,” truly captured the deep love and respect they shared.

As we remember Rosalynn Carter, we also send our thoughts and prayers to the Carter family during this difficult time. Their unbreakable bond and love story serve as inspiration to us all.
