Alice says Wellington is constantly dribbling on the walls and ceilings

Unaware of how big he would grow, Alice said she is now having to deal with daily struggles she never thought she would.

From constant dribbling on the walls and ceilings in her home to trying to fit Wellington in her Toyota Aygo, she has to put up with a lot.

However, she said her beloved dog is “an oversized, loveable goofball” and a huge softy.

She said: “I’ve had spaniels all my life so it was definitely a bit of a change but he more dog there is the more dog there is to love!

“I am roughly 5ft 4ins, and about eight stone and last time we went to the vets he was too scared to go on the scales but we think he is about 10 stone, and around 6ft 2ins on his back legs at full height – he is taller than my boyfriend who is six foot.”

Alice said the gigantic Dane doesn’t realise his size and will still try and sit on the laps of visitors.

She added: “I also love his inability to realise he is not a small dog and to still want to sit on laps, squeeze into small places and get stuck, interrupt zoom meetings with his enormous head and play with small dogs, even if he does accidentally crush them.

“Although he is huge, he is a bit of a wimp, and is scared of lots of random things such as bin bags, the postman, fizzy drinks making a noise, card machines that beep, anyone wearing hi-vis and loud noises.

“We can no longer lift him into the bath so we have to hose him down in the garden, but the water must be warm.

“He has an emotional support teddy which he will find and chew on if he is worried and he won’t go out if it’s too windy or rainy and we have to drag him out for a wee.”

Wellington is also too big for regular dog collars and jackets so has to wear ones made for horses.

It comes after an animal lover revealed her pooch is the “world’s biggest dog” and gets mistaken for a horse.

Claudia shares multiple videos of Arlo, her Irish Wolfhound, to TikTok.
