“I’ve tried everything – getting scared, hanging upside down, drinking water, even smelling a porcupine’s rear end. Nothing works,” remarked the accomplished athlete regarding his persistent hiccups.

Bo Jackson, the former NFL and MLB player, is set to undergo a medical procedure to alleviate chronic hiccups that have plagued him since July 2022.

During an interview on “McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning” on WJOX-FM, the 60-year-old athlete explained that his hiccups were the reason he could not attend an event earlier this year.

He further shared that he has been subjected to various medical tests to find the cause of his hiccups and is now scheduled to undergo a procedure at the end of this week to address the issue.

Despite trying numerous remedies, Bo Jackson’s doctors have been unable to determine the cause of his chronic hiccups, according to the athlete himself.

In response to radio hosts asking if they have figured out the reason for his hiccups, he replied with a humorous “Hello no!” Jackson also mentioned that he has attempted various cures, including unconventional methods like smelling a porcupine’s rear end, but to no avail.

According to the Mayo Clinic, hiccups lasting more than 48 hours may be caused by nerve damage or irritation, central nervous system disorders, metabolic issues, or other medical conditions.
