“In the past year, since Lucy came into my life, being a parent has truly transformed me,” shared Andy Cohen during a guest appearance on the Two T’s in a Pod podcast with Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge.

In a candid conversation on the Two T’s in a Pod with Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge podcast, Andy Cohen, aged 54, bravely shared his vulnerability and reflections on parenthood. Discussing the impact of his 1-year-old daughter Lucy Eve’s arrival, the television personality revealed a profound transformation in his perspective.

“The past year has been a game-changer for me since Lucy came into my life. It has truly reshaped my approach to parenting,” expressed Cohen, who is also a devoted father to his 4-year-old son, Benjamin Allen. “When I had just one child, I felt a greater sense of control. But when I became a father of two, I wouldn’t say I lost control, but the experience became more isolating. I began to feel a heightened vulnerability creeping in.”

Cohen recounted a particularly challenging incident at the park involving fellow parents, which intensified his emotions. “When the sprinklers unexpectedly turned on, I realized I hadn’t packed a change of clothes,” he recounted. “As I glanced around, I couldn’t help but notice that I was the only single parent present, and the only gay dad. In that moment, I felt completely isolated, like I was on an emotional island. When I returned home, the weight of it all hit me, and I found myself shedding tears.”

The Bravo star acknowledged that this experience served as a catalyst, unraveling a deeper vulnerability within him. “It was a triggering moment,” he explained, reflecting on the impact it had on him.

In a recent conversation, Cohen echoed his evolving sentiments about parenthood, emphasizing that his priorities have shifted since becoming a father of two.

“I find myself choosing to spend much more time at home with them than I ever would have before,” he revealed in an interview with PEOPLE. “Being present for my children has become a top priority for me, even though I wasn’t someone who used to stay at home often. It’s a significant change in my perspective.”

Recently, the devoted father celebrated his daughter’s birthday on April 29, sharing an endearing photo on Instagram where they posed together with a gold “1” balloon. The heartfelt caption read, “Happy birthday, sweetheart! ❤️.” In an Instagram Story video the following day, he joyfully captured the moment, acknowledging his daughter’s new age as they spent time together at home.

As Lucy embarked on her second year of life, Andy Cohen, the host of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, affectionately shared the milestone with his daughter. With Lucy nestled on his lap in her pajamas, he pointed out the two adorable pigtails he had styled for her that morning.

“I did your hair today, and you know what, you were so cooperative,” he remarked, addressing his beaming toddler. “I truly believe you understood what I was doing, and you allowed me to give it a try.”

In this heartwarming moment, Cohen expressed his appreciation for Lucy’s willingness to participate, highlighting the sweet connection between father and daughter.
