As the one-year mark of his ongoing war against Ukraine approaches, Russian President Vladimir Putin is taking extreme measures to ensure his safety.

According to insiders, his public appearances are becoming increasingly rare as he fears assassination attempts.

Ex-KGB spy Yury Shvets has suggested that Putin is particularly concerned about the threat of poisoning. These concerns are causing Putin to take every possible precaution to protect himself.

According to Shvets, “It looks like he fears for his life. Poison is the weapon of complete villains. And who now has this weapon, even he does not know. This is a source of very great stress for him.”

As tensions continue to escalate between nations, Putin has reportedly stopped using his presidential plane and is relying solely on an armored train for his travels around Russia.

The train, which is camouflaged in gray and red, appears like any other passenger train, but has secret radio antennae fixed to the roof of the carriages for special communications, according to the Daily Star.

These precautions reflect Putin’s concern for his safety and highlight the seriousness of the situation.

Journalist Ilya Rozhdestvensk has pointed out that several of Putin’s properties are located in areas where flights are severely limited due to combat activities.

This means that if the president wants to visit his palace near Gelendzhik on the Black Sea, there is a risk that his plane could be shot down.

As a result, Putin has made the armored train his primary mode of long-distance travel to his residences, switching from planes in the spring of 2021, according to the Dossier Center.

The train reportedly stops at a guarded railway station with a helipad in the Valdaysky National Park, not far from the village of Dolgiye Borody. It is believed that this station and the special railway line leading to it were built solely for the use of the president.

These measures underscore the level of concern for Putin’s safety and the seriousness of the threat he faces.
