“A bad attitude is the only physical impairment in life.” Hamilton, Scott

Unfortunately, we constantly encounter judgemental individuals. One of the things that might crush our hearts as parents is when our kids are judged only on their individuality.

A mother from Illinois named Kati Martinez is sharing her experience on social media with everyone.

Her life was transformed on the day her son was born.

the 21st of October, 2019. Beautiful baby boy born to Martinez. However, she was informed by her husband, Abe Martinez, that their little baby, Micah, had Down syndrome.

My first thought was, “What? Because nothing was unusual, there is just no way. In ultrasounds, they would have most likely seen it, Martinez said in a Good Morning America interview.

Martinez said that since the baby’s characteristics were obvious from being bloated from birth, her husband was able to identify the infant as having Down syndrome.

Abe took note of the baby’s big almond-shaped eyes, lack of a nasal bridge, and noticeable neck fold.

Hearing that your kid has Down syndrome may be devastating for some people. Martinez felt at ease, but we can’t criticize these folks.

She recalls saw the nurse nod, reassuring her husband that the infant did indeed have Down syndrome.

Martinez waited patiently for the crew to hand him Micah while being silent.

I don’t even remember what he said when he first arrived, but I just remember assuring him, ‘He’s going to be alright. It will be OK,’” Martinez said.

Martinez was a former special education teacher, therefore she was familiar with this circumstance. She now supports people with Down syndrome thanks to her new experiences.

She wants to educate, assist, and support other moms who share her circumstances.

Fighting off bullying and abuse is difficult. They may become stronger with Martinez’s assistance, not only for themselves but also for their Down syndrome-affected children.

She said, “I believe that when I became Micah’s mother, I became an advocate.”

She proudly posts Micah’s video clips on her TikTok account because she believes that by doing so, she would be able to connect with a lot of people.

The parents said that they cherish each developmental milestone Micah achieves and that he is currently playing the greatest big brother to Mackenzie, his 8-month-old sister.

“His prognosis seems positive. He must do all of the duties that our daughter would. Martinez said, “Like, we’re not gonna treat him any differently.

Raising two children, one of whom has Down syndrome, is challenging, however, like any parent, there will be growing pains. It is preferable to savor each moment they share rather than fretting about what may go wrong.

Micah’s charming grin is enough to make people feel good within.

We’re not going to overlook the fact that he has Down syndrome, and we’re going to celebrate that, but we still have high expectations for him.
