UPDATE: We have the saddest news to share with you. Mama June Shannon’s daughter, Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell, has lost her battle with cancer at the young age of 29. It breaks our hearts to deliver this news.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Mama June expressed her grief and shared a family photograph. She wrote, “With a breaking heart, we are announcing that @annamarie35 is no longer with us. She passed away in my home last night peacefully at 11:12 PM. She fought this horrible disease for 10 months, and she passed away surrounded by loved ones. We will provide more information as we receive it. Your prayers and thoughts are appreciated during this difficult time.”
Anna’s sister, Honey Boo Boo, also shared her sorrow on Instagram. She described the pain of watching her sister battle cancer over the past year and expressed gratitude that Anna is now at peace. Honey Boo Boo asked for prayers for their family during the days ahead.
Mama June recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight about Anna’s journey with cancer. She revealed that Anna had completed four rounds of chemotherapy and was doing relatively well. While the family is taking it one day at a time, they are still exploring treatment options such as clinical trials or immune therapy.
Anna’s two young children are aware of their mother’s illness, but they may not fully understand the extent of it. Kaitlyn, who is 10 years old, has been by her mother’s side throughout the diagnosis and treatment.
