Witness the response of a mountain lion who endured being restrained for 20 years, as they are rescued and set free.

Existence in confinement is arguably the most inferior way of living, as every living being, whether human or animal, deserves the right to liberty. Regrettably, accounts of creatures bound to a life of captivity, unable to taste the freedom they were meant to have, are far too common.

Mufasa, a mountain lion who was taken to a circus in Peru, endured a horrendous ordeal as he was coerced into spending two decades confined to the back of a pickup truck, restrained by chains.

Thankfully, Mufasa’s agony finally came to a halt, courtesy of the animal rights organization Animal Defenders International, who went to great lengths to bring an end to his suffering and grant him a new lease on life. Their objective was to terminate the operations of the circus, which led them to uncover Mufasa’s plight in the first place.

Removing Mufasa from the circus proved to be a challenging task, but the organization eventually succeeded.

Mufasa was finally able to live the life he was intended to, relishing his newfound liberty and basking in the beauty of nature. Sadly, his joy was short-lived as he passed away a few months after his rescue due to kidney failure. Nonetheless, he spent his final days unencumbered and loved, having had the chance to experience the care and affection he deserved.

No creature should ever have to endure the treatment that Mufasa underwent, and his memory shall remain in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
