Concerned, her parents, Caseby and Ben, sought medical attention, anticipating a simple ankle fracture. Little did they know that they were about to confront news that would shatter their world into pieces.
An Unfathomable Foe: Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma
The doctor’s words resonated within them, etching an indelible mark on their souls. Zoey received a diagnosis of Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), an exceedingly rare and aggressive brain tumor. This devastating revelation thrust Zoey and her family into a fierce battle against an adversary with a discouragingly low survival rate. Tragically, this type of tumor currently has no known cure or effective treatment, leaving families like Zoey’s with limited options.
A Farewell that Touched the Hearts of Many
In the face of overwhelming adversity, Zoey’s parents made a poignant and heartrending decision to share a moment of profound significance with the world. They posted photographs on Facebook, capturing their final moments together as a family.
