A hero both on and off the field, Bryce Harper is!

At Saturday’s game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Kansas City Royals at Citizens Bank Park, the 30-year-old player for the Philadelphia Phillies assisted a lost 7-year-old youngster called Caleb in finding his family.

A video of Harper sitting next to the youngster and inquiring about the boy’s brothers was uploaded on Twitter by Taryn Hatcher, a reporter for NBC Sports Philadelphia. The video is now known as X. The young fan pointed to their seats in the stands while visibly distraught and wiping away tears.

When Caleb and his brothers went to take pictures with the Phillies players and coaches as part of the team’s promotional photo night, they became separated, according to MLB.

Following their reconnection via their grandmother, Diane, the reporter shared another selfie that Harper took with the three brothers.

With his wife Kayla, Harper has two children: Krew Aron, 3, and Brooklyn Elizabeth, 2.

Although Harper’s actions off the field are likely to be the highlights of Saturday’s game, the right fielder also blasted a home run and contributed to his team’s 9-6 victory.

The Phillies’ players place a high value on interacting with the crowd. When Devin Smeltzer was diagnosed with pelvic rhabdomyosarcoma at age 9, former Phillies second baseman Chase Utley signed an autograph for him. Thirteen years later, in 2018, Utley and Smeltzer reconnected.

In 2006, a photograph of the occasion was taken, and it “has been in the living room for a long time,” Smeltzer said to Spectrum Sportsnet in 2018. “Seeing that photo when I return home is always incredibly depressing because of where I am now. It’s unbelievable to think that I experienced such hardship at such a young age and how much I’ve matured.

The 27-year-old Smeltzer is now a pitcher with the Miami Marlins after pitching for the Dodgers in 2018. Utley, 44, played for the Dodgers after being traded from the Phillies to them in 2014.
