Eight years after going missing in 2015 while walking his dogs, a 17-year-old was discovered alive and injured.

In 2015, Rudy Farias, a 17-year-old teenager from northwest Houston, Texas, left his house to walk his two dogs but never came back. He was reported missing shortly after, and his family hadn’t heard from him until he was recently discovered outside of a church with blood in his hair and cuts and bruises all over his body.

Rudy was unconscious and is now getting better in a hospital.

After he vanished on March 6, 2015, authorities spent many days looking for him before calling the hunt off. The search went on for a day after his dogs returned home without Rudy.

The teen had post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and depression at the time of his abduction. He stopped taking his medication after he went missing, and his family feared that he might have been disoriented as a result. This caused them great concern.

The Texas Center for the Missing announced on Sunday, July 2, 2023, that Rudy had been “located safe.”

As Rudy heals in the hospital, kindly keep his family in your thoughts, the organization said on Twitter.

Rudy’s recuperation is anticipated to take a long time because of his still-fragile health and inability to move from the fetal posture. He can barely speak a few words at once.

Rudy, now 25 years old, was abused, in the mother’s opinion, throughout the eight years he was gone.

The mere fact that he has returned home after such a long absence, however, brings joy to his family, who are ready to exert whatever work and time it takes to support their son.

We hope for Rudy’s quick recovery and firmly think that after everything he’s been through, he will be able to rebuild his life.
